Do you teach the PME diploma modules?
We used to teach the PME diploma modules but found them very restrictive in what they allowed us to do. For example, we could only teach traditional techniques which PME had laid out in their instruction booklets, which meant we could not teach modern techniques like shaping 3d cake-models and chocolate work. Plus we could only promote PME equipment, even though students were asking how to also use things like FMM tappits, Patchwork Cutters and airbrush machines. Finally, the ‘PME diplomas’ that are issued don’t provide any formal type of qualification; they only show a student was taught by a PME approved tutor.
As a result we decided to create our own 'modules' which focuses on mixing traditional, with up-to-date techniques and equipment, thus giving students a more rounded learning experience to better prepare them for modern cake decorating.
Are there any additional costs?
On many other courses you first of all pay for the tuition, then get a list of everything you need to buy in order to do the course. With Sugarcraft Supplies Tuition there is nothing else to pay, unless otherwise stated. We provide all the consumables and equipment necessary for you to complete the course. Students would be expected to bring an apron, notepad and pen. Sometimes our equipment may need to be shared, so if you have your own equipment please feel free to bring it along, if you wish.
Are the courses refundable?
A minimum deposit of £50 (or the cost of the course, if less) is required to book a class. Final payment needs to be received at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the course. Failure to make the final payment on time will result in you losing your deposit and your place/time slot will be made available to others. Should your place be cancelled for this, or any other reason, then any refund will be made, less your deposit, which will be used to cover our admin fee. MAKE SURE YOU CAN ATTEND THE COURSE PRIOR TO BOOKING!
What is your age policy?
We are happy to teach younger students. However, anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by a full fee paying adult
